Phuket to Ranong border run, Myanmar
Approximately 290 km by road plus about 6 km by water; allow around 9–10 hours for the trip. The crossing and Myanmar-side formalities usually take about an hour, but timing is not fixed.
For a road-only trip, compare Satun. Ranong’s shorter road section does not guarantee quicker border processing.
Morning pickup
Expected departure from Phuket is around 06:00–07:00. We pick up from almost all of Phuket; the most remote locations are agreed with the manager. Share your area and location pin to confirm the exact pickup time and place.
Immigration, boat and return drive
After the drive to Ranong, complete border formalities, cross the bay, complete Myanmar-side procedures and return to Thailand. The return drive includes stops; expected arrival in Phuket is around 15:00–17:00. Private, VIP and independent trips are arranged separately.
Trips with transport include the return transfer, a light breakfast, water, boat transfer, border assistance and usually lunch on the way back. There are 7/11 stops every 2–3 hours. Confirm meals when your booking is approved.
The Ranong prices separate the deposit, driver payment and optional extras. Private transport also has a payment per passenger. Independent FREE PASS has a separate fare: arrange your own travel and confirm the assistance and checkpoint meeting with the manager.
Pay the deposit after the manager confirms and the balance to the driver on trip day. FREE PASS requires full prepayment. Pay the deposit by baht transfer to a Thai bank account, TrueMoney, transfer from a Russian bank to a Thai account or cash at the office. Ask the manager about transfers from Russia, as conditions change. Other methods are by agreement.
The deposit is refunded in full if you cancel at least 24 hours before departure. If less than 24 hours remain, the deposit is non-refundable.
The Ranong checkpoint is operating for nationalities listed in the Countries section. The manager confirms every request, as the situation can change.
If you experience motion sickness, have reduced mobility or travel with a young child, discuss boarding and the boat section before booking. Boat photographs illustrate a transport option; the actual vessel may differ.
Share your nationality, visa, stamp expiry and entry history. Myanmar admission and Thai re-entry requirements need separate checks. Thailand’s listed 14-day exemption for Myanmar nationals applies to international airport arrivals and cannot automatically be used at Ranong. See countries and entry rules.
Complete a new TDAC for your return date, including for children. The manager will provide transport details for TDAC and help complete it if needed. Prepare passports, visa documents, accommodation and onward travel details. Enter each child’s exact age; the prices page separates ages 0–4, 5–10 and adults. Confirm seating, child seats and boat arrangements in advance. On group, private and VIP trips, children aged 10 and under pay no additional border fees. FREE PASS for children aged 0–10 must be arranged through the manager.
Contact the manager to check the date and documents, then submit your request. The manager checks documents and entry history in advance. Once your trip is confirmed and you board our transport, we will bring you back to Phuket. Immigration decides on the entry stamp and permitted stay.
